SafetyNet Safetynet

Proper security, storage and management of data and configuration files are essential to the maintenance and protection of industrial automation systems. Too often, however, backup files are not handled with due care and attention and become incomplete, out-of-date or difficult to use when attempting to restore original configurations. Autopro's SafetyNet© minimizes this business risk by managing back-up computer files for clients in a central location off-site and enabling their retrieval at any time from anywhere via the Internet.

Companies who use SafetyNet© find it is an easy, inexpensive way of ensuring sensitive files for automation equipment, such as Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA Remote Termination Units and HMI configurations, will be safe from equipment failure, software errors, fire or other potential risks.

SafetyNet© is resident in Autopro's servers. Client backup files are stored in an individualized server account. Any number of individuals can access the account but that access is controlled by the client through a user ID and password. Files can be retrieved 24 hours a day, seven days a week using a common browser like Microsoft Explorer. This minimizes lost time by getting systems back on-line quickly, particularly if they are in a number of small facilities or at several different locations.

To protect against accidents or equipment failure, files are backed up to tape every day, 365 days per year. For added security, a duplicate backup tape is created once a week and stored in a safety deposit box at a separate, secure location. Full tapes are archived but never erased or overwritten. Clients can upload new backup files at any time. Like full tapes, the replaced files are archived and retrievable at any time.
