Thorough documentation of DCS configuration is very beneficial for troubleshooting, training and managing software change control. However, generating and maintaining documentation of thousands of loops installed over a number of years can be prohibitively expensive. Manually producing documentation is also labour intensive, time consuming and prone to errors. Autopro has created an Automated Drawing System^© (ADS) software program to deal effectively with DCS documentation concerns. Customized for each client, ADS is a Windows based program with a direct user interface. The ADS program is capable of producing 'B' or 'D' sized demand drawings as well as 'B' size system-wide configuration drawings.

The ADS database is flexible enough to provide and store unique client information for each control element, loop, device loop or drawing. Created drawings are stored on a PC hard drive for easy retrieval.

Autopro also offers configuration documentation as a service. Using our ADS program, Autopro can generate and retain a copy of hardcopy and software drawings of a client's DCS configuration. Changes are made as required to the drawings as the DCS configuration is changed or modified. Only drawings that are changed are produced in hard copy. The client can access the electronic versions at any time through Autopro's remote access service.
